This Mount Pleasant home belonged to long-time clients with whom we’ve worked in the past. They wanted to make better use of the space in their home as they found that the flow clashed with the daily flow of their lives. In order to accomplish these goals and give their home a much needed refresh, their sunroom, front porch, primary bath, primary closet and kitchen were updated.
Once small and not functional, the primary closet is now expanded into what was formerly the laundry room for a roomy space with plenty of storage and an organization system.
The primary bathroom, once crowded with a closet, a vanity that was too small for daily use and insufficient storage, has now been transformed into an elegant oasis. By removing the closet and moving the shower to the rear wall, the open floor plan made room for a wider vanity and plenty of storage options.
The open floor plan that includes the kitchen and living room was once a cramped space until the dividing wall between the two rooms was removed. The kitchen now flows cohesively and has a fresh new look, making it feel updated and luxurious.
A beautiful dining room was created after the original screened-in porch was closed in for a convenient space to enjoy meals right off the kitchen. A new screened-in porch was added to the living room to bring in natural light and create a transition between indoor and outdoor living.
The end result is a stunning space that feels open, airy and has plenty of storage solutions to reduce clutter. Reconfiguring the rooms created a floor plan that makes sense and is more functional for the homeowners.
This project is a gorgeous example of how an older home can feel new and effortlessly fit a homeowner’s daily lifestyle with just a few updates and collaborative planning.
