The original kitchen was closed off from the main living and dining areas and only accessible via small cased openings. A peninsula bar with cut the room, making the kitchen feel smaller. We removed the peninsula and took down the walls separating the kitchen from the dining room and family room. The extra space from the dining room allowed us to expand the footprint of the kitchen while giving the homeowners a large eat-in area in the room. Dark blue base cabinets provide a striking backdrop for the room which is accented with Cambria countertops, white upper cabinets, and a light blue tile backsplash. The additional space allowed for the construction of a new, built-in bar with beverage refrigerator and ample storage.
