Design/Administrative Assistant

Classic Remodeling & Construction, Inc. is a design-build remodeling firm located in Charleston, SC. We specialize exclusively in high-end, residential remodeling with projects ranging from kitchens and bathrooms to additions, whole house remodels, and outdoor spaces.

We are currently looking to add a Design/Administrative Assistant to our team. This position will provide support to the design department as well as manage other marketing and administrative tasks as necessary. The ideal candidate will have some design experience and familiarity with the construction industry.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Design Support:

  • Assist clients with product selection and create digital design presentations.
  • Assist with scheduling of pre-construction walk-throughs and other various meetings for the designers.
  • Assist designers prepare for client meetings and attend as requested, document requests, changes, decisions, etc.
  • Assist with pre-design research, including photographing and measuring projects as requested.
  • Assist with design research and tracking down fixtures to match clients’ wishes.
  • Coordinate the delivery of contract documents to homeowners for signature and follow-up to ensure receipt and return of signed documents.
  • Prepare project binders for the production team.
  • Maintain in-house showroom to ensure current/relevant products are available and discontinued items have been removed, this includes the printed materials throughout the office.
  • Assist with permitting and GIS research.

Administrative:

  • Answer incoming calls and direct messages as appropriate.
  • Enter all-new lead information into the contact management system.
  • Routinely check and restock office supplies.
  • Be a friendly face, greet all visitors to the office, and communicate with coworkers when someone has arrived for a scheduled meeting.
  • Direct or handle any office maintenance tasks and maintain office organization.

Marketing:

  • Manage inventory of Classic logo apparel and branded materials, and coordinate with printers when needed.
  • Manage client satisfaction survey process.
  • Schedule photography of finished projects and stage homes for shoots.
  • Update the marketing newsletter monthly (the content will be written for you).
  • Serve as point of contact for marketing vendors (writers, graphic designers, web developers, publications, etc.) and ensure materials are submitted by deadlines.
  • Ensure the health of the website and communicate any issues that arise to the web development team.
  • Monitor our social media platforms (we have a marketing company that manages our content).
  • Plan and execute any company events (you will have assistance from coworkers in planning these events).

Skills & Abilities:

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects at the same time.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to develop effective relationships with clients, fellow team members, representatives, and subcontractors.
  • Self-starter, willing to help where needed.

Education and Experience:

1 year of residential design experience.

Experience with computer programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Experience in Chief Architect and Sketchup is preferred but not required.
