Priorities were to reconfigure and update the kitchen within existing space, create a place to display
a treasured art and glass collection, and enhance the condominium’s views of Charleston Harbor. Complicating factors were the logistical constraints and construction restrictions of the occupied historic building.

By reconfiguring the foyer, the small enclosed kitchen was expanded. A wall between kitchen and dining room was removed and an ample bar added to give access to the sweeping views beyond. Integration of expertly crafted, custom mahogany woodwork and cabinetry lent warmth, while a matching frame was handmade to display the prized centerpiece of the owners’ collection: a stained glass panel from England. Work was accomplished with the support of, and minimal inconvenience to, neighbors above, below and beside our clients, all of whom are inspired by the improvements.
